Allie Asshole Reactions

According to the 4yo of the house:

Santa; noun, guy who gives gifts to kids and lives down the street. Wears a red suit and a hat. Has reindeer.

Allie Asshole; noun, dumb doll that mom put in different places at night.

He isn't buying it. He thinks mom does everything. Well he is right but I am not going to tell him that. I want to have the fun. I want him to be good.

So here are the few last nights and the reactions.

Allie messing with his toothbrush

Reaction: Whip him out of the bathroom and proclaim that mom messed with his stuff.

Allie Asshole eating candy and watching tv (and forgot to plug in the wii remote!)

Reaction: Mommy ate all my candy. Elf was thrown in his room and the candy wrappers were on the floor. He was mad the remote wouldn't work.

Allie Asshole making out with his new moose ball spitter

Reaction:  Moose was thrown on the couch and elf as thrown in his room.  I heard a grunt and a "mom did it."

Allie Asshole in bed with his dogs

Reaction: "WHY!!!"

Christmas pjs

Every year for Christmas I get or make THM pjs. I allow him to open them christmas eve so he has new pjs to wear in Christmas morning pictures.

This year while hitting up one of my local thrift stores I came across a set of Care Bear fabric. It had along with it 3 pillow shams for infants.

As a child my mother made my doll little quilts from pillow case fabric that she embroidered. I still have one and it sits on THM's bed. He also had my childhood doll.

So this year I made him a set from Care Bears fabric.  I used part of a white t-shirt of THH.
Pillow sham on tip and quilt on bottom
I made a quilt and small sham for him and his baby. These too will be opened on Christmas eve. A little something special for the one that holds my heart.

I am very excited to give them to him. Come on Christmas!

Green onions toddler activity 2

Guess what? It is working! The onions are growing back. Who flipping knew!

It has been fun to see the growth. They are growing really fast. Sorta creepy seeing the white roots all spider like and hanging out in the water.

THM is enjoying it too. He will drag anyone into the kitchen to look at it. He has showed THH about a dozen times over the last 5 days.

I have a stalk of celery ion the fridge. I have heard they regrow too. We are try that next.

Science is pretty damn fascinating!

Allie the asshole night 1 reaction.

THM woke up and found Allie playing with his cars.

He promptly picked her up and threw her across the room saying "mommy did it"(it- placed her there)

We came home from breakfast and there she was again playing with his cars. I had put her there when he was putting on his shoes about to head out.

He was not amused.

Tonight she is hanging out in his Christmas tree in his room. His brand new green tree. Lets see his reaction tomorrow when he goes to turn it on.

Allie the elf.

Santa came by this morning.

Yes we so Santa. Shoot me.

Anyways THM hates the idea of the elf. I on the other hand love it.

THM also hates when people touch his stuff. And told dad to leave his cars out tonight. We don't dare touch them.

Allie on the other hand is an asshole.

So introducing "Allie Asshole"

Happy Thanksgiving! (with recipe!)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We had a wonderful day at home cooking, playing and watching movies. It was so nice just to relax, even though I did all the cooking, with the help of 4yo THM.  He helped me make pie and deviled eggs. He also helped with the turkey but wouldn't touch it. I don't blame him.  The first Thanksgiving I made a turkey I had to talk to myself for 30 minutes, call my mom and freak out, all overt having to put my hand up the turkey's ass.

I can now do that step freak-out free. *insert very proud smirk on face here*

I of course got to use some of my awesome Pyrex.

We made chocolate pie. I always make a chocolate pie. Why? because it is my dads favorite.  He passed in 2008. I miss him and I always like to have a little something to remember him. Even though I don't think I ever spent a Thanksgiving with him after my mom and him got divorced.

Not Pyrex, but one of my FireKing pieces. I have used for about 7 years now. Also there is green bean casserole in the orange Autumn Harvest Pyrex. Yummy.
Look at all that Yummyness.  Our meal is fairly traditional.

Still no clue about this plastic butter dish. Anyone?

And  my big surpise to myself this year was the sweet potato casserole (in Woodland 503).  I don't care for sweet things, but this was really good. Now it was very rich and I think I will put the recipe in my book. Want the recipe I used?
1 (29 ounce) can sweet potato's (yams), drained
1/4 plus about t heaping tablespoon  cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 teaspoon salt (wing it, I did)
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (or just throw whatever in, I did)
3/4 (I beat the egg then eyed it while pouring it in)
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 bag miniature marshmallows (I used maybe half, but look at my poor thing above!)

Heat oven to 350F

Mash yams in a large bowl and add brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, egg, and melted butter.
Mix well.
Top with a layer of marshmallows

Bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and top with remaining marshmallows if like yours, my marshmallows have melted and look pitiful.

I even got THH to help me out (and he shaved his facial hair, it looks awful  here!)

And I am not going Black Friday Shopping! First time in 3 years. I don't need anything.

Toddler activity 2

I'm always looking for things to make my son learn by doing. We did the Baggie of herbs in the window. Worked great.

I had buy green onions for a dish THH likes. Remembering that I once saw you could regrow them I googled and found out how. If you have never heard about it lucky you can learn with us.

All you need is:
Green onions, cut to about the white part

You put the opinions in the jar, full it slightly with water.

Keep it watered and they should grow. Simple enough right? Lets hope it works.

RIP sidekick.

Tuesday I was riding my bike. I was headed to the grocery store to return "the Lorax" redbox. We have a small section of road known as "retro row."  it is normally packed and full of traffic. I was crossing the street when .....

My bag, holding my keys, phone, redbox, extra bag and wallet, got stuck between the tire and the thing that holds the tire on. This made me stop suddenly, fly forward, into the handle bars. My bag of stuff broke open.

I hurried and picked everything up and backed out of the middle of the road. As I composed myself, (as I was utterly humiliated) I checked to make sure I had everything.

Keys   ----- check
Wallet ----- check
redbox ---- check
extra bag - check
phone ----- check....... ummmmmmmm

This is my phone now.

Sorta looks like a peacock.

RIP sidekick, you won't really be missed as you were giving me problems.  I am glad you broke in a way that you cannot be fixed and are totally unusable.

Since I am trying to get a job I cannot be without a phone. So I had to use some savings and get a new phone. And since I have always saved and saved I bought myself the phone I wanted.  Well almost, I settled for a 3gs Iphone. (would of loved to have a 4S but I didn't want to spend that much)

I'm a happy camper now. Except only 4 of my contacts were saved to my SIM, but at least the most important one was there.

Christmas from the trash: T2T 1

My little profile thing over there says I dig though trash.  Yes I do.  I'm pretty proud of it too.  No I don't eat from the trash, I find stuff in trash or by the trash. Trash to Treasure is awesome (T2T)

Last Tuesday after I picked up THM from school we grabbed the wagon and left the house to walk to the grocery store.  It is about half a mile away but I like the walk and it is good for both of us.  Well we went past 1 alley not even a block away and I saw a huge pile of stuff.

Score! I headed over, THM following.  What was in this pile?

Snowman candle thingie.  Kohls sticker on bottom priced $14.99.
Welcome sign with Snowmen

Normal Rockwell ornaments from 1999.  Set of 3   Retail $12.95 each
Christams hurricane vases, in box
Dino ornaments,  in box. Set of 2.

2 packs of 2 kites
Valentine baggies, new in package
2 fishing poles
1 new in box helmet, fits THM and was a need, since he just outgrew his old one! Best score of the day.

What stayed behind: fake tree, small Christmas candle holders, random dolls, random toys, life jackets, Easter decorations, bag of holiday bows and much more.

While we were checking the stuff out a lady parked and said "take what you like, I just put it out". I told her thanks, it was awesome to have such a great neighbor.

THM was so excited over the helmet and fishing polls. This beats thrifting somedays.  Yay for free stuff.  Trash to treasure, why yes!

A few I've traded.

Us Pyrex lovers have a thing.  We get to the point we have extra that we buy in order to trade for pieces we want. I've done this a few times.

So far I have trades a Butterprint bowl. (no picture)

A set of butterfly gold glasses.

A homestead lid for the 045 and the 441 Cinderella bowl are hopefully going to a new home.

The homestead is the speckle lid.  I'm keeping:  A 024 lid. The lid to my Butterfly Gold 045 (already had bottom) and a Gemco pink toothpick holder. Those were my scores of the day.

441 Homestead
In trade I got:

The 503 (large) to complete my set of Butterprint fridgies.

The spring blossom 045 bottom, reunited with its lid.  See I knew there was always a reason to buy those extra odd lids.

And yet to be determined for the homestead bowl and lid.

I only do local trades though. Because shipping is so high. It is nice that way I don't fear breakage or lost (or never sent) packages.

I have a few other ones I am looking to trade.  A spring blossom square baker and a pink 024 no lid.  Maybe if you are in the LA/OC area you would want to trade?
